This material can calcify which signals the presence of atherosclerosis, a disease of the vessel wall, also called Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). People with this disease have an increased risk for heart attacks.

The main goal of the CT Heart Scan is to determine if Coronary Artery Disease is present and to what extent, even if a patient is asymptomatic. It is a really powerful diagnostic tool that can help you avoid more serious heart complications. The scan is a quick, painless, non-invasive procedure.

On the day of your appointment, you will be given a CD containing the images of your scan. Once the images have been reviewed by a Consultant Radiologist, you will be sent a full written report including any recommendations, if necessary.
