What is a CT Coronary Angiogram?
A CT Coronary Angiogram (CTCA) is an imaging test that looks at the arteries that supply your heart with blood. Unlike traditional coronary angiograms, CT Coronary Angiograms don’t use a catheter threaded through your blood vessels to your heart.
How Does It Work?
You will be taken to the procedure room and asked to put on on a hospital gown
and lie on the bed that slides under the CT machine. You will then be connected to a heart rate monitor which will watch your heart rate and rhythm.
What happens after a CT Coronary Angiogram?
Once the scan concludes, you’ll be escorted to a recovery area where doctors will closely monitor your recovery. The cannula will be removed from your arm, allowing you to return home.
